The county cut crossing guards from every high school in this spring's budget, leaving them in place only through middle school. Tamara watched the traffic on the first day of school and says there were already near misses within three days. She told FOX 5 that the reflective flags West Springfield parents are exploring are a stopgap, not a fix — what Rolling Road and Grigsby needs is the guards back. County staff are due to report to the Board of Supervisors on September 15.
